The renovation of Delaware Stadium used SPS Technology’s innovative decking system to update its nearly 50-year-old structure. This project demonstrated how existing venues can be sustainably modernised whilst retaining their original superstructure.

  • The renovation involved re-profiling existing precast concrete rakers with prefabricated modular stool sets bolted to the sides, upon which new SPS stadia decking was installed.
  • The update included 3,625 new lower bowl seats, wheelchair spaces and prefabricated ADA platforms.
  • The rapid erection cycle saw 60-80 terraces installed daily, accommodating 1,000-1,400 seats. Each terrace installation took approximately 5-8 minutes.
