ACU Moody Coliseum Indoor Arena

The 2022 renovation of Abilene Christian University’s Moody Coliseum transformed the historic arena to meet modern expectations while preserving its iconic feel. Innovate Stadia and SPS Technology, in collaboration with Freedom Enterprise Inc., played a vital role in the project.

  • The renovation reduced spectator capacity from 4,600 to 3,600, rather focusing on enhancing the experience for modern-day students, athletes and fans.
  • The prefabricated SPS Stadia + Arenas System was chosen to re-profile the existing concrete bowl, significantly improving sightlines and the overall spectator experience.
  • The system facilitated rapid on-site installation of key components, including parapet walls, seats, balustrades, railings, aisle steps, vomitory walls and ADA/VIP/Media platforms.
