San Jose Earthquakes MLS Soccer Stadium

In 2015, PayPal Park, previously known as Avaya Stadium, was completed as a soccer-specific stadium to meet the demands of Major League Soccer (MLS) fans. Innovate Stadia and SPS Technology contributed to the project.

  • Located on a challenging site with soft soil, unmarked underground structures, and in a seismic zone, the stadium required innovative solutions. SPS stadium decking was chosen for its strength and light weight, which helped address issues related to seismic activity, unstable soil conditions and vibrations.
  • The 18,000-seat facility features a steep raker design, which offers some of the closest views of the field in any soccer stadium.
