Georgia Tech McCamish Pavilion

In 2011, the Georgia Tech Athletic Association expanded the McCamish Pavilion to enhance the fan experience and preserve the iconic Schwedler dome. Innovate Stadia collaborated with SPS Technology to incorporate additional seating into the historic rafters.

  • Traditional materials like precast concrete and folded steel plate were unsuitable due to weight and structural requirements. The SPS terrace system provided a lightweight alternative – up to 80% lighter than conventional solutions!
  • The upper deck seating bowl constructed using SPS, improved sight lines by increasing the cantilever distance of the first row of seats.
